Los Bastardos Magnificos My|Am|Uh

I like good ole country roots music I can feel. Los Bastardos Magnificos MY AM UH is full of raw and real grit.

Album starts off and right away you know you’re in for a treat. You can feel the Florida swamp they call home is this album. With songs like ‘Whiskey Done It’s Job‘ you can almost picture yourself in a bar singing right along at the top of your lungs. When other artists try to write songs that will be relevant to a mass audience you lose the true feeling. That’s what makes this album great, these songs are real.

I know the Whiskeys Done It’s Job on me a time or three. ‘ Ain’t Got No Time‘ is a song about the road and leaving behind all the women from town to town. Something all us fans dream of “living like a rock star”. Then you get into what i consider the stand out track on this album ‘Life Aint Been Roses‘ in my opinion this song represents LBM the best. This could be the song that sums up my life, so it has a special place with me. Its almost like it was for me. Ain’t that what a good album does? Draws you in and makes it feel like the songs are for you?

This was all done from the heart and soul of a few Miami artists that wanted to play roots music that was there love and there passion. Im proud to say Los Bastardos Magnificos are Cracker Swamp family. Do yourself a favor and pickup the album today.

Cracker Swamp Artist Husky Burnette

Husky plays an electric, Mississippi Delta-style version of the blues, but what makes it so unique is his ability to straddle lines without crossing them. His voice has a hard grit and growl to it, but he doesn’t scream or sacrifice melody. His guitar tone is crunchy, but not so much that you would mistake this for metal.  The groove is the glue that binds Husky’s great taste for tone with his top notch songwriting, which works in traditional blues themes.

I have been hard at it on one of my most interesting builds to date. I am building a 6 string suitcase resonator guitar for Husky Burnette. The build features a magnetic pickup designed and built by Bob Harrison. Bob’s pickups have been showing up on a lot of builds lately. I am really excited to hear what this thing does. I have also installed one of Ben Getty’s rod piezo with a preamp under the biscuit. I am really happy with how this system has worked on a 3 string cigar box resonator that I installed it in earlier this year. The rod piezo is a huge improvement over the conventional piezo. As usual this resonator has provided it’s share of construction challenges. The extra tension has been a challenge, I think I have it under control. The goal is to have the build complete for Muddy roots. Since the day job has me on the road this week we will see. Husky is out on tour if you get a chance do yourself a favor and catch one of his shows.  8-22-2011
